Have any of you had experience with programming a MSP430-header board fx. MSP430-H1611?

Is it possible to do it with a MSP430 Launchpad, or is it only possible with a JTAG adapter?

I don't know this header board, but the name implies that it is for the MSP430F1611, which does not support SBW programming. And thw LaunchPad only supports SBW programming.

Yes, you'll need a full-featured FET like the FET-430UIF
