How do i program this chip without having to solder it onto a board and run wires to the launchpad? Is there another way?

Hi Michael,

Without soldering the TSSOP package u cannot program it or u may have to by 20 or 28 pin development board it has a target socket where u can place the TSSOP package(i.e SMD).

You can also have a look here, This is a bit independent and gives an opportunity of cross platform, If you already have a launchpad board u can pull wires and program.If u use Arduino or pic some time in future and have a boards u can use this to program those MCU 's as well.
