program EM430F6137RF900 without msp-fet430uif

Hi, I received my EM430F6137RF900 kit but no msp-fet430uif was included in it. I learnt from its product page that an interface such as fet430uif would be necessary to program the modules in my kit. I was wondering if it would be possible to program this kit using msp-ez430u or other low cost fet(s) like one included in launchpads?

  • Indeed, the product page reads:

"A separate debugging and programming interface is required to work with the EM430F6137RF900. A flash emulation tool (FET) may be purchased independently (MSP-FET430UIF) or bundled with the EM430F6137RF900 (FET430F6137RF900)."

So you ordered the wrong product if you didn't have a FET already.

The LaunchPad, while providing limited FET functionality (SBW mode only, fixed supply + I/O voltage) only supports 2x family devices. Intentionally. Same for all other EZ430xxx products.
