USB Power

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529

Hi All,

Device: MSP430f5529

I have a design that requires USB but doesn't take power from the USB port. Instead I'm using the VBUS input to supply power from a battery and to take advantage of the internal regulator to supply DVCC. To make it a little more complicated USB_DP and USB_DM are also used as a serial interface. If a voltage is present on the USB_DM when the system is un-powered there is leakage to VUSB -> VBUS and eventually to DVCC.

Is there a common solution to this? I can understand there being a current path to VUSB from USB_DM. Does this mean that internally the VUSB regulator can be reverse powered?

Thanks in advance,

Kirem
