dll Initialization error (All Screenshots Included) Please Help...

I'm getting, "MSP430.dll initialization error" when trying to connect to FlashPro430 (USB-FPA 6.0) adapter via USB (See pics below)

WARNING: "I am not an engineer :)

OS: Windows 7 Professional 32 bit
FET-Pro430 Version: 3.0-8
Dll: 3.02.04.005

    Apparently the library cannot locate the FET.

    You seem to use an Elprotronic FET and no TI FET. The 'Used Adapter' is set to "TI's FET or hardware compatible", which is most likely wrong. Try the option right beneath (or add a different path), to use the Elprotronic version of the MSP430 DLL that belongs to (and came with) the FET you use.

    Thanks for your help.

    You are correct, I am using an Elprotronic third party adapter,




    I have tried changing the path to the dll but I still get the same error message.


    I tried all these other dlls before I posted my question and I have tried them again now.
    Still get the same error even with the Elprotronic dll path selected.

    Any ideas?

    Since you are using the Elprotronic USB-FPA adapter, I think the dll to be used is C:\Program Files\Elprotronic\MSP430\MSP430DLL\MSP430-FPA.dll

    Have you tried selecting MSP430-FPA.dll ?

    If the dll doesn't match the adapter, I would expect an error during DLL initialisation

    Yes, I get the same error when choosing that dll file.

    The highlighted (yellow) text applies only if you're using an original (or hardware compatible) TI adapter, which you don't.

    The MSP430-FPA.dll should do. If not, well, I don't know what's wrong. But the guys at elprotronic are very helpful - even if you're just using the free software version and a Ti adapter (which means they won't get money). So write them a mail and you'll surely get an answer as soon as anyone is in the office.

    Hi,

    You should run the FlashPro430 software when you are unisg our (Elprotronic) USB-FPA adapter. The FET-Pro430 software you are running is intended to use with TI's UIF adapter, not with our USB-FPA adapter. Please download the FlashPro430/GangPro430 software package from our website, unzip and install the software, then run the FlashPro430 software and all will work.

    welcome to the E2E forum.

    I already said you're really helpful, but I hadn't expected you signing up for the forum just to answer this question. :)

    (You likely won't remember me, we exchanged some mails about 3 years ago)

    I always thought that the lite version of your software has the limitation to TI compatible FETS and some features disabled. I didn't know that there is another completely independent, second software for non-TI FETs.
