Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FG439, MSP430BT5190
I'm doing an engineering senior design project very similar to the EKG based Heart Rate Monitor found on ti.com/430medical.
My project will take as input a small potential difference between 2 electrodes. It will amplify and condition the signal. Sample it and send it via Bluetooth to an Android phone. The phone will display a graph of the data among other things.
I'm asking for any guidance as far as products/kits that would be most fitting for my application. If there is some kind of demo board that has Bluetooth capability to communicate with phones built in that I could add to for the EKG application that would be great. I noticed some of the MSP430s are designed for Bluetooth. Does that mean that the MSP430FG439 that is used in the EKG application on ti.com/430medical can not handle Bluetooth? I'm open to any suggestions. I only have 1 semester to do this project so the more that's pre- packaged and functional the better. That said I'm still looking for something relatively cost effective, and will be reading a small analog signal so will most likely require some external circuitry unless you know of a product that would take care of the analog amplification and conditioning for me too. Thank You in advance for any suggestions, or information. I really appreciate it!
