BSL invoking problem on preprogrammed MSP430F5510

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5510

Hi,

We verified our MSP430F5510 firmware that invokes BSL by jumping to the address on our prototype and it works fine.  When the MP board back with preprogrammed MSP430F5510, the BSL invoking does not work.  The schematic of the prototype and MP board is exact the same.  Any reason why the BSL invoking stop working?

Thanks,

Yiyuan

  • What do you mean by 'preprogrammed'?

When indeed schematic is the same and no layout errors and same firmware and same MSP, then there is no reason why it should behave differently. So there must be a difference. However, with the information provided, there is no way to figure it out.

  • Are you sure that the supplier who is doing the "pre-programming" value-add service for you isn't erasing the region of the MSP where the BSL is stored?

  • We just found out tha the BSL got erased during the pre-programming.  Thanks for all your help.
