how to calculate the ticks in msp430f5438a

hi all,

I want to calculate time for one instruction execution in msp430f5438a. For this

by using "cpu-ticks" we can able to calculate time in sec for execution a instruction.

But how to count this "cpu-ticks".? For other micro controllers have this "cpu_ticks" generation option, except msp430.

Can any body help me,

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your replay. I want to use the "cpu_tick_count" in code. So, that i can convert it into millsec. For example some other controllers has cpu_ticks() function (or similar functionality) which gives the "tick_count" as output. But i want this in MSP430. And by using some timer interrupts we can calculate the one variable to count each time, but for that need to call _LPM3_() and all. Is there any way to get.? like calling a function gives the "tick_count".
