Hi TI Team,
We use a LauchPad MSP-EXP430G2 Rev 1.5 and use it in service to debug and reprogram FW on our application board. We developed a special adapter to switch between 9 MCUs and all works fine.
Now our application boad goes for a new revision and we exchanged one MCU to MSP430FR5738. It looks like the can program all MSP430G series but not MSP430FR. With my MSP-FET430UIF I can program both MCU series.
I get on loading with :
MSP430: Trouble Writing Memory Block at 0xc200 on Page 0 of Length 0xb6: Could not erase device memory
MSP430: GEL: File: ... MSP430FR57xx_01\Debug\MSP430FR57xx_01.out: Load failed.
The strange thing is: When I loaded a program either with MSP-EXP430FR5739 or MSP-FET430UIF then I can debug it with MSP-EXP430G2.
On HW layout the debugger of MSP-EXP430G2 and MSP-EXP430FR5739 looks the same. The only difference I found was the arrangement of J3. So we can not swap the LaunchPad on our adapter board.
Is there a FW update possible? Can I get MSP-EXP430G2 with a new FW?
Regards
Guenther
