Is the RTC workaround needed for an MSP430F5438A device? RTC3 is listed in the errata sheet but I read something (don't remember where) about A devices not needing the fix.

Hi,
Both the F5438 and the F5438A devices are impacted by erratum RTC3 and need the workaround. If you find something that says otherwise, please let us know.
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks! I think I read this http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp430/f/166/p/103048/364844.aspx#364844 and somehow thought is would be the same for the 5438A.
This is not really related to the 5438A but the posts in http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp430/f/166/p/103048/364844.aspx#364844 imply that 5418A does not require the RTC workaround but RTC3 is listed in the 5418A errata sheet REV H.
Hi Mike and psa,
Document SLAZ046N (revised September 2011) says that the 54xx non-A devices are subject to RTC3.
Document SLAZ057N (revised November 2011) does *not* indicate that 54xxA devices are subject to RTC3. That's two months later.
It appears that with the enlightenment of RTC6, the rework of the errata falsely applied RTC3 to the 54xxA devices.
Jeff
Is there a place I can find old errata sheets on TI's website? I only see slaz290h on the product page
Hi all,
EDIT: Mike is right - we have found that RTC3 is still affecting F5438A. I'm updating my older post as well to prevent confusion.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and please point others to this post in the meantime to try to help clear up any confusion.
Regards,
Katie
