MSP430: Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found

Greetings.

I received the MSP-EXPCC430RFx experimental board.  System: Ubuntu 12.04 running in a OS X (Mountain Lion) through Parallels. I installed CCSv5.5 and the User Experience demo. The demo builds OK. However when entering the debugging mode it throws back 'MSP430: Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found'. Did a dmesg and it gets recognized as an USB ACM device,  it is described as,

[25072.143242] generic-usb 0003:0451:F432.000A: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.01 Device [Texas Instruments Texas Instruments MSP-FET430UIF] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-1/input1

I've seen this same question around but the results are never consistent. What would you recommend? Thank you for your time.
