MSP430G2553 Multiplexed peripheral module function

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2553

Hi,

MSP430G2553 Digital I/O port pins are multiplexed with other peripheral module function. As shown in table 8-2; PxSEL and PxSEL2 bit is used to select pin functionality.  What is the difference between Primary peripheral module function vs. Secondary peripheral module function? The manual is not very clear in this regard.

Thanks

  • I think Primary peripheral module simply means one of the peripheral module; while Secondary peripheral module simply means another peripheral module. Which one is primary which is secondary is a matter of opinion or silly labels.

You should consult the Section: Pin Schematics of the MSP430G2552 data-sheet -- specifically, the many tables in that Section.
