  • Didn't found it but found a new revision "a" of the same document:

  • Hi Mikko,

I suspect the link was broken due to revisioning.

Here is some general guidance for everyone about links to app notes on the website - there are two kinds of links to documents, the revision-specific link, and a general link that will redirect to the latest revision.

The link that you posted above (www.ti.com/litv/pdf/slaa605a ) is a revision specific link for rev. a, so it will break when rev. b is put up and replaces rev. a. You can tell it is revision-specific because it says "litv" instead of "lit" and it includes the revision letter after the lit number.

Here is the general link that should always point to the latest revision: www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slaa605 Note how it has "lit" instead of "litv" and no revision letter at the end. This is the kind of link I try to remember to use when pointing people to documents on the forums so that someone looking at it in a year or two won't run into a broken link due to a new revision. If you find a broken link on the forum to an app note or user's guide, and it says litv, try the general version of the same link first (and post back with it to help others coming after).

It sounds like the search unfortunately pointed you to an old version of the doc that has since been replaced by the "A" revision of the document. It looks like this doc was only just revised this month, so this is probably why the old link is still showing up in the search. Sorry for the confusion, and hope that this helps!

    Regards,

    Katie

The document management system only provides the latest version of a document. Older versions are removed. So deep links stop working. Normally the links on the website use a 'generic' URL that always provides the latest version (forwards to the correct deep-link). But this doesn't seem to be consistently used. Especially if you use the search function.
