EQUn: What is it an Acronym for?

In the Timer A block diagrams, there is an internal EQUn signal, where the letter 'n' denotes the block context.

    EQUn is acronym for "comparator equal" logical signals of timer block. You can see that EQU2 comes out of CCR2  register "box". CCR0 and it's EQU0 is special - that's why it is connected to multiple places
