Chronos PC application source code

Hi yoda,

My doubt is similar to greg.....i could not find any document explaining how to (if it's possible) build an application similar to the ez430 chronos control center that can wireless read/send data from/to chronos watch.

Is it possible to do this? or the RF USB access point is only usable from the texas control center application?

I just have the same consult, I'm looking for the Chronos Control Center source code, because I need to collect 3-axis accelerometers data in real time. This application provide us this real time acquisition, but I have to add some code to generate a log file with accelerometers data.

So, do you think this source code will be available soon?

It has been over two months.  Is there any formal release of the TI PC source code yet?  I've seen some Python stuff but that is about it.

later this week, we're planning on releasing a new version of the Chronos software and documentation that will include the source code for the PC GUI.  stay tuned to the chronos wiki because it will include a lot of cool, new features.

I'm looking forward to it... I can hardly wait.

Thankx Tobias...I got it...next question...

Has anyone conjured up a fixture to hold the guts of the watch while debugging - i.e. connected to the USB dongle? It is difficult to read and push buttons without the case, and the radio doesn't work without the antenna in the case. Is that something the TI devkit crew would do?

What is the development enviroment TI used to develope the Control Center? 

I know in your Chronos User guide you recomend  http://www.activestate.com/activetcl probably becuase it is free, but this executes a script, and has no debuger.  If you actualy used this for your program, perhaps you could direct me to a location that shows how to use debug commands.  If you used an profesional/enterprise edition that has a debugger this also would be usefull information.

I have seen free TCL debuggers out there but they don't work well with GUIs and I get all sorts of errors.  So given my ~1hour or so research on the subject, it looks like you have to spend >$500 on a TCL debuger (probably from activetcl) in order to even use the source code to generate a new version.

Like many others on this site (search "Control Center") in various message streams, I just want to get Acceleration data to a file, any file format would do.  I don't have a preferance for any language used to collect this data, but it just seems like adding it to the current control center is the most strate forward approch.  But if this is not posibly/affordible, I with the 20 or so other people who have asked the same question will just cludge my own port monitor to extract the data.  Do you see a theme going on here?
