Dear All,

I just purchased "MSP-EXP430G2 Launchpad" which is supplied With MSP430G2553 and MSP430G2452 by TI. My aim is to convert this "MSP-EXP430G2 Launchpad" board as USB based BSL programmer. My target MCU is MSP430F2616 (64 pin).

I downloaded "SLAA535A.zip" and gone through SLAA535A app note. It described all about MSPG2231. I tried to convert firmware of MSPG2231 into MSP430G2553, but it give compilation errors. Could you please help me to solve mentioned problem?

What are the steps to follow "to convert this "MSP-EXP430G2 Launchpad" board as USB based BSL programmer for MSP430F2616" ?

If that does not work, I have a different code for the MSP430G2xx (any one of them that fits the socket).

I downloaded "3323.lpad_bsl_int_G2553.c" and replaced with "lpad_bsl_int.c" already present in "..slaa535a\LPAD_BSL_INTERFACE\Firmware\Source". Selected MCU MSP430G2553 and compiled...ok.

Tried to download "active application", it give error "Failed to load Debugee".. What to do?

Any other way ?

I continuously getting ERROR "Failed to load Debugee".. What to do?

Is it non-compatibility of IAR to new launchpad or any driver issue?

Application note SLAA535 mentioned regarding MSP430G2231, but I got MSP430G2553 with Launchpad. From forum I got code for G2553. I compiled code with IAR and loaded successfully to Launchpad. As you know that my target MCU is MSP430F2616 (64 pin). I made connections as below,

Launchpad	Target board
P1.0 (J1)	TCK
P1.4 (J1)	RST
P1.6 (J2)	BSL_TX (P1.1)
P1.7 (J2)	BSL_RX (P2.2)
VCC (J6) (power to target board)	3V3
GND (J6)	GND

My launch pad connected as COM16 on PC.

Now, what are the step to download my .txt file (or hex) into my target MSP430F2616?
