Router does not join the network - PANID 0xFFFF channel - all channels

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5438A, Z-STACK

Dear TI,

I am using the Z-Stack 2.5.1 with the MSP430F5438A and my routers are not able to join into the network.

I want to configure the PANID of my devices to 0xFFFF (so they are able to join any PANID) and the channel to 0x07FFF800 (so they are able to operate in any ZigBee channel). In order to select the right coordinator, I have enabled the network security in my devices.

I configured my coordinator with a fix PANID (0xDADA), a fix channel 0x16, and enabled the network security.

When my routers start scanning the channels, they find a ZigBee coordinator in the channel 0x11, and since it is not the coordinator of my network, the routers are not able to join this coordinator (the network key is not the same). After not being able to join the network, they start the scan process again; they find the coordinator in the channel 0x11 again and try to connect with the same coordinator they tried before.

Even though my coordinator is answering the Beacons of my routers, they never ask to join its network.

I would like to know how I could solve this problem. A solution I though was to lock the previous channel, but it wouldn’t solve my problem when two coordinators are in the same channel.

Is it possible to lock a channel or PANID so my router will not try to associate with it again?

Thank you,

Luciana
