IAR: user error: "Instruction found on an odd address 65535"

Hello,

I am using IAR workbench for developing embedded apps for MSP430.

While running IAR in simulator mode ( project -> options -> Debugger) chagned the driver to Simulator.

Compilation goes fine (as it should be).

But while doing "download and debug" it gives the error "user error: "Instruction found on an odd address 65535""

Anyone faced this problem before ??

Likely, you have enabled an interrupt but not provided an ISR for handling it. So the MSP fetches the ISR address from an unprogrammed (=0xFFFF) vector.

The simulator may not be able to generate an interrupt. But it does use the reset vector.

The IAR simulator is able to simulate some of the peripherals (and DLL plugins can be used to simulate others).
