MSP-FET430

Hi All,

I used for MSP430 the IAR SW 4.20 and the MSP-FET430UIF. It worked fine. Now I evalueated the CCS from TI (worked as well) and now I had to go back to IAR but the MAP430-FETUIF is not correct detected while starting the download to the target. I receive:

Fatal Error:Failed to initialize.Check if hardware is connected...

I installed a new Kickstart version 6.10 = 7 from IAR and it works. My old Full-version does not. Question marks in the device manager for USB are not displayed.

Also the programming tool from ELPROTRONIK does not work anymore. I de- and reinstalled it without success.

What can I do?

Maybe new CCS made update on MSP-FET430UIF firmware to work with new msp430.dll, and old IAR / Elprotronic are still linked to old dll version.

Hi,

I have the same problem, where I can download the new driver msp430.dll,,? I try also to install also the new release of iar embedded workbench slac050ay but ask me the password and anyone inj TI know this password ,

Hi,

You can use FET-Pro430 tool to first down grade the firmware of the FET, then the FET can be recognoized by the IDE. Then the IDE will upgrade the firmware of the FET to a suitable version. But may be sometimes you need to try more than once.

FET-Pro430->Tools->Firmwaredowngrade from V3 to V2

Thank you for your answer , but where I can find and download FET-Pro430 ? on the Ti web site I don't find it

FET-Pro430 lite is from elprotronics (www.elprotronics.com). But it is mentioned so often here in the forum that it is easily forgotten that it is no TI product and not available on the TI website.
