How to deselect the already selected DMA channel

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5335

Hi,

I am using MSP430F5335. I am Developing Code for uart through DMA. In this for DMA channel 0, single transfer mode using for transmission, once the DMA interrupt will hit i started to receive in repeated single transfer mode, but by this time i can't able to receive the data, if i change DMA channel as 1 i can able to receive. can anyone guide me how to use the same channel for transmit and receive  seperating by interrupt.

Thanks in advance.

  • If you have some kind of fixed protocol where data isn't sent and received at the same time, I don't see any problem in reconfiguring a DMA channel in its ISR. Level-sensitive triggers (DMALEVEL = 1) and non-repeated single transfer should do the job. The latter is really important, because DMAEN has to be cleared.

On the other hand, if you don't know when data will be sent by your other device, you're better off using interrupts for manual data handling if you need the remaining 5 DMA channels for other components.
