So, Im wondering what direction this will take. Im leaning the MSP430 & embedded systems partially for metering systems. NIST/IEEE are now setting standards. My feeling is that the 430 and zigbee will be front and center as well as the 320 dsp. What are anyone's thoughts? How deep into our personal energy use will this go and how will we process it and what will we do with what we process? Watts, Watt Hours, Power factor, harmonic distortion, peak usage, utility control on usage, feed in tariff, sharing what we produce, energy theft. Its exciting and it be-joules me. To start with I think we should change the conceptual name "Smart" I dont think its appropriate and its overused. A paddle or whip "Smarts".
