Maximum Speed for MSP430F5438A UART

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530, MSP430F5438A, MSP430WARE

Hello,

in my application i m connecting MSP430F5438A with CC2530/31 on UART with 9600 baud rate. i would like to know the maximum possible speed for UART for the MSP430F5438A.

Thanks.

1 Mbps as per datasheet, but it can go over this.

  • Hello,

Thanks for the reply. As i mentioned, i m trying to make communication between CC2530/31 and MSP430F5438A on UART and i have set the baud rate at 9600. can u plz share some documents / code (C/C++) for CCS tool for increasing the baud rate ?

MSP430F5438A might be working on higher baud rate for UART communication(i have not tested it). but the issue is communication between two devices MSP430F5438A and CC2530/31.

    Thanks.

MSP430x5xx BR calculator is here http://forum.43oh.com/topic/2640-uart-configurator

Don't know about other side (CC2530).

Pet Peeve: "u" and "plz" are not words. By the time you typed the rest of your question, you surely could have typed the extra letters to make "you" and "please".

Anyway, to help with your request, there are plenty of examples in the MSP430Ware download (click the link there) including a whole UART driver implementation in the DriverLib folders.
