Interfacing MSP230's BSL UART with FPGA

Hi all,

I need to interface MSP230 through the BSL UART interface. I have connected ports as mentioned in Table6 UART BSL Pin Requirements and Functions of MSP430F5510 data sheet.

Am giving '0' on TEST signal and '1' on RST# pins. UART configuration is proper, referred SLAU319H 1.4 UART Protocol.

It is mentioned that when I transmit 80H on UART port TX line, I will receive 90H. But am not able to receive any data on UART RX line. Why I am not able to receive this data? Is my approach correct?

MSP430F5510 by default have USB BSL, and if you want to have UART BSL on MSP430F5510, BSL must be re-flashed by SBW / JTAG with UART BSL version.

For entering to USB BSL is used BSL / PUR button, not TEST / RESET entry sequence.

There is TI USB / UART BSL for MSP430F550x inside slaa450 Creating a Custom Flash-Based Bootstrap Loader (5xx_6xx_Released_BSL_Images\MSP430F552x_550x_Family\), but replacing BSL is not simple thing and final result can be bricked MSP430 chip with not working BSL and blown SBW / JTAG fuse.
