hi i am working on NEC remote format data. n i am having THERMAL printer. i want do communication through the NEC remote format only.

thermal printer has IR. which working on 38400 frequency. so its having its own command format for TX and RX the data.

for command Example : 0XC0 0x05 0XC1.

my question is it can be possible that we can communicate with thermal printer . how can i send the format through the protocol i am using the Environment as Android

What you want is impossible because thermal printers does not understand NEC remote signals, they happen to have IRDA port.

You should determine what types of communication need for your android device and THERMAL printer. In my personal opinion, Bluetooth SPP profile or USB connection(Virtual COM port) can be acceptable for your application.

Hi Richard,

we are doing the communication through the USB. so we are using the USB ir module which is supporting the NEC protocol format. thermal printer having the IRDA port. does it can possible to pass NEC protocol to IR.

it can be possible or not??

ya bbut if we want to change the hardware for irda port. what we can do for that

You shall get USB IrDA adapter.
