hai every one,

i want some help to start programming on msp430F5438A microcontroller using GCC compiler.

i searched in internet, but i got procedure for TI-MSP430 Launchpad using GCC compiler.

i could not find procedure for MSP430F5438A board using GCC.

can any help me how to start programming of MSP430F5438A using GCC compiler.

Hi,

MSP-GCC (BETA) is included in CCS v6.0. So you can download CCS: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS, and refer to the MSP430 CCS User's Guide: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau157ae/slau157ae.pdf, chapter 2.1.1 Creating a Project From Scratch. Don't forget to choose the GCC compiler while creating the project.

we want to use MSP-GCC on linux (with out CCS). We are able to compile the code of MSP430F5438A but when we try to dump the code into microcontroller, we are getting FET driver problem.

so we would like to know, is there any procedure or material for dump the code into MSP430F5438A microcontroller using GCC compiler on linux.

Hi,

you need the mspdebug to download the output binary code after compilation to the target device using the standard debugger (eZ430, MSP-FET430UIF, etc.).

Just try google for "mspdebug".
