GSM module for MSP430G2553

Hello!

I am doing an MSP430-based project and I need a GSM module to send messages. Do you know of any GSM modules I can use?

If there aren't any GSM modules available for MSP430, do you have any suggestions for a different microcontroller (but not Arduino or Raspberry Pi)?

Hello Mike,

Any SIM900/ SIM300 module would be okay.

They receive and give response in both TTL and RS232 level (since level converter is inbuilt ). so response can also be seen on PC on any terminal software via USB to serial converter. There is no problem of interfacing GSM module with MSP430 if you have knowledge of UART communication.

Do you know where to buy those kinds of modules? I tried searching on the internet, but I am unsure on what to buy. Do I just buy the SIM itself, or do I buy a whole board with a shield compatible with the SIM?

I am new to this kind of project so thank you for bearing with me.
