Anybody else using linux version, running on vmware on a windows 7 box?

I can't seem to find any relevant threads on this.

But I just wanted to know if anybody has successfully used the MSP FET430UIF, on Linux, running in vmware on windows 7?

I just get the dreaded "No USB FET was found" error, and I've tried everything.  All of our other development work is embedded Linux on a Linux host, and I'd really prefer to use CCS 6 in the same environment.  My VM is recognizing the FET430UIF, but CCS/Eclipse can't seem to find it.
