Hello!

Please can you post a list of MSP430s that have a Timer_D included.

(There is no selection option in the spreadsheets. => impossible to find)

Is there a MSP430 that has a Timer_D and a high resolution ADC like a SD24?

I need both for a PWM TEC controll.

Timer_D peripheral is available on MSP430F51x1 and MSP43051x2 devices.But none of them that I know off has SD24.

TI provides a nice product selector tool on their website. There you can select ‘TimerD’ as filter and it will list all devices (and their other modules).

There was another thread looking for "battery backed RTC" and the advice was to download the MSP430 bulletin (slab034z) and then search. I suspect you might have to do the same here. By the way, if you cannot find one chip with both SD24 and Timer_D, can you have two chips on your board - I noticed that the SD24 comes on a small (and cheap chip).

In slab034z, timer D is known as HiRes PWM. (Why? I don't know...)

It turned out that TimerD is somewhat limited in its use as high-resolution timer. It does, however, serve well for high-resolution high-frequency PWM output. So that's perhaps why the name TimerD isn't consistently used.
I always wondered what happened to TimerC. :)
