Hi,
I have a quick question about the current supply of MSP430F5x.
MSP430F5x current supply in active mode is summarized in data sheet. For example ,
http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/msp430f5438.pdf
5.4 Active Mode Supply Current Into VCC Excluding External Current
These numbers look not good compared with Renesas RL78/L1C.
http://documentation.renesas.com/doc/products/mpumcu/doc/rl78/r01ds0192ej0200_rl78l1c.pdf
2.3.2 Supply current characteristics
...but I found some descriptions in foot note 1 :Total current flowing into VDD, including the input leakage current flowing when the level of the input pin is fixed to VDD, or VSS. The values below the MAX. column include the peripheral operation current. However, not including the current flowing into the LCD controller/driver, A/D converter, D/A converter, comparator, LVD circuit, USB 2.0 function module, I/O port, and on-chip pull-up/pull-down resistors and the current flowing during data flash rewrite.
So now I'm wondering if we could see more higher numbers in active mode on RL78/L1C.
Now my questions are:
- What current flow is included in the number of MSP430F5x current supply. The activity of the peripherals has been considered ?
- Any idea to reduce MSP430F5x current supply as low as the one of RL78/L1C ?
Best Regards,
