Longevity

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2544

Hello,

Do you know what the longevity for the following devices would be?

MSP430G2544

MSP430F2252IDA

MSP430F2242!RHAR

MSP430F5151IDAR

MSP430F5151RSB

IF they were to be EOL'd would there be a pin for pin replacement?

Thanks.  This information is needed for planning and product selection.

Best Regards,

Belenie

  •  Hi, G2xxx series, 5xx 6xx and some part on 4xxx series are new so long life time can be expected but just TI know how long can be.

Mature part 1xxx (maybe all 8MHz)  can be NRND as mature legacy devices, all them can be pin to pin replaced by 2xx series, same is for some old 4xx mapped to new 4xx family, oldest 3xxx  series (over 20 Yr old) is now obsoleted. New released device can (MUST!!) survive for a long time till new series appear like the 1xx pin to pin replaced by 2xx less expensive but more performant and cheap too.
