pin compatibility?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529

Hi

Is there any FRAM device with the same pinout as MSP430F5529 ?

Or more generally is there any pin compatibility between MSP devices at all, or

are they all different?

My idea was to replace MSP430F5529 on the Launchpad board with a FRAM device.

Alternatively are there any plans for a Launchpad based on a new FRAM devices (other than FR5969 Launchpad)

  • Have a look in the datasheet of the processors. There are different MSPs having the same pinout. Look at the following picture - same pinout for F5529, 5527, 5525 and 5521 as they only differ by memory size.

Why do you need another launchpad with a FR device?

  • Thanks,

But I am looking for a FRAM device pin compatible with MSP430f5529. Of cause I can compare the datasheets one by one, but was thinking, that there might be the easier way to do it. And I don't see any rules/policy on how the pin types - for example power supply pins, reset, etc are assigned to pin numbers.

Within the same family, as in your example there is a pin compatibility. Unfortunately that is not the case between different families. I need for an educational purpose a relatively small number of Launchpad like boards with ~120kB program memory and very low power consumption. The new FRAM devices would be ideal. But it looks like I need to build a custom boards.
