Can MSP430F5529 be used as an USB host controller

I could code the controller to act as an USB device.

But now i want the micro controller to be the host and connect an external pen-drive(USB device).

Is this possible using MSP430?

If not suggest a compatible host controller.

This is not possible. The USB peripheral in the MSP430 is a device-only implementation.

The MSP430 USB stack does not have the capability to function as a host, even in a limited capacity (On-The-Go host capability). It can only work as device only.
