MSP430 Launchpad which support all MSP430 Controllers

Hi,

I'm planning to use MSP430G2955 in my next project with Launchpad as debugger.


However, i don't want to restrict the Launchpad to only this controller..


I gone through MSP430F5529 USB LaunchPad Evaluation Kit information..

My questions are

1. Which MSP430 launchpad support all the MSP430 controllers..?


2. Can i connect debug connector of the above Launchpad to my custom design board  and debug the controller on my board..?

    Open software / hardware MSP430F5529 LP support all SBW MSP430 devices and it can be connected to custom board.

    So it supports FR(FRAM) series too.. 

    Eg: 

    MSP430FR5729

     Hi, Launchpads are built to support limited family, with G series you can use all that are SBW based and DIP available, the FR and F5529 and latest with LCD are locked to single launchpad due they are SMD cased.

     Not all MSP family has SBW support so if you need program a JTAG based processor you need an adapter like UIF or Elprotronics.

     If the processor in your board has SBW you can attach it and debug, if processor is JTAG only you need the UIF adaptor.

     None of launchpad can support full family of MSP, I suggest you browse Elprotronic site and TI programmers sections.
