Compiler+Linker: choosing a development platform (Windows versus Linux) which provides the best support from TI

Hi,

TI provides both Windows and Linux CCS development platform for developing on the MSP430.

From a compiler and linker point of view: does TI provide better support for their Windows-based compiler/linker or better support for their Linux-based compiler/linker or is it exactly the same support for both platform?

Thank you

Michel Dubois

  • The Windows platform is better supported. Not all features are supported for Linux and not all helper programs are available for both.
Especially the demo programs usually use Windows for the PC-side UI.
However, reliable development under Linux is possible as well.
