In recent versions of the IAR tools, the address of the hardware multiplier is decided at link time. The linker command files provided by the tools has a like that looks like:

    -D__iar_HWMUL=4C0

My guess it that your project contains a copy of the linker command files from an earlier version of the tools. All you need to do is to add the above line to your linker command file.

I'm using MSP430F5418 - where can I get the correct line for the linker file for the MSP430 that I am using?
