I2C application - using G2553 : USIIFG ' [ USI Counter Interrupt Flag ] not declared ' problem

The register name is USICTL1.

Anyway - the G2553 has an USCI, not an USI so there are no definitions for the USI in the header file.

The MSP430G2553 does not have USI, it has USCI. Where did you get that code from?

Picked code from GITHUB , posted from someone who had interfaced, I thought , to the G2553 Launchpad. Thanks for the info.

I got the code. from a GITHUB source and from a book ' MSP430 Microcontroller basics ' by a John Davies - page 509 reads ' ..............using USI .............on the TI MSP430FG4618.......... ' so I am slightly confused ............. can I use USCICTL1 ?????

PS Have just read more of the book and have found reference to ' SPI with the USCI ' so will start from there.

Yep, USI and USCI are two different peripheral modules. The USI only supports SPI and I2C while the USCI supports UART too.
Both are handled differently (the USI is not much more than a shift register with interrupts and clock generator) and have different registers.

The LaunchPad was originally not shipped with the G2553 but with 'smaller' ones that do not have an USCI but do have an USI module.
