RTC value is always 32.768KHz

My question is why the RTC value is 32.768 KHz.I googled and i got the answer but why only divide by 32768.

What is the exact reason.

Could anyone please help me out??

32768 is very easy for hardware to divide by because it is a power of two. This particular value is used for historical reasons (clock crystals always have been 32768 Hz); 16384 or 65536 would probably work just as well.
