UCB1 on msp430f5529 LP

Hi,

Is the UCB1 available for SPI on the MSP430F5529 LP. The user guide of the LP says that its an unused fuction? What does that mean?

Look at this picture:

UCB1 in SPI mode is available on P4.1 (UCB1SIMO), P4.2 (UCB1SOMI) and P4.3 (UCB1CLK).

Thanks Denis,
I saw this and got confused because the the bottom left corner the legends state that the ones in grey are unused functions. What does that mean?

"Unused" means that this function is not used in the BoosterPack standard. In other words, Booster Packs that conform to the standard and that use these pins will expect them to be GPIO pins, not SPI pins ('standard' SPI will use the UCB0 pins).

However, as long as you are not creating a Booster Pack that needs to work with all Launchpads, you can connect to these pins whatever you want, and SPI will work just fine.
