Hi all

This is my first post here :)

I have just received my evaluation kit and at present just want to write some code in VS preferably VB or C# to read the temperature data from the serial port.

I did think of looking at the code of the sensor monitor but that frankly looks like a nightmare!

For my purposes at the moment that is all i need - just read and interpret the data from the serial port.

does anyone know if there are any examples of this or any information as to the format the data is in please?

I would have thought this would be quite easy but as im no expert on serial ports I don't know.

Hi Mike,

I have a program written in Visual Studio 5 & 8 (C#) that is used extensively for testing my 'micro-toys'. Has a function to split terminal screen and show ASCII on left & Hex on right. Some of the code can be shared, but I have modules used for calibrating Quartz pressure sensors that is confidential. Glad to share C# code for the other. Also includes Cut and Paste for data 'keeping' needs,

Hi and thanks for reading this :)

I have realised that i needed to use com12 and that once you know that it is very easy ! and I am happily reading the input to a Richtextbox at the moment.

Any other advice wold be appreciated though ;

C# code is very simple to follow Mike. I've excluded some of my private modules and tested.

As you mentioned, this is my first post here. Hmmm...how to attach a zipped file???

One other thought this is the data as fed into a richtextbox. What is the 2nd reading after the temperature,is it humidity?

if so its a strange number?
