msp430c09x BOR and RAM retention

is there an app not on the operation of this mcu during brown out reset? what is the reset sequence etc? I cant understand the bor table in the data sheet for this IC.

what is V(BOR_IT+)?

What is V(BOR_IT-)?

What exactly is VRET?

What does "tracks BOL level" mean?

what voltage may is start to loose RAM?

what voltage will i definitely have lost RAM?

etc, etc...

thanks.

  • Hi Paul,

You can find definitions and reset diagrams in Chapter one, (currently page 13) of the User's Guide:

     http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau321/slau321.pdf

    what is V(BOR_IT+)?

This is the BOR off voltage , Where Vcc is rising

    What is V(BOR_IT-)?

This is the BOR on voltage, where Vcc is falling.

    What exactly is VRET?

    V_Retention

What does "tracks BOL level" mean?

I believe this is indicating that it Tracks and stays below the Brown Out level. This way, you issue a Brown out Reset before you begin to lose retention. I will confirm, though.

what voltage may is start to loose RAM?

    VRET

what voltage will i definitely have lost RAM?

We cannot make any guarantees below VRET. Please use it as an absolute.

  • Paul,
May I close this issue out, or do you have any other questions?
