Hello,
I worked with several controllers before, now I want to start a project with TI - MSP430F135.
Somebody told me, that almost each launchpad can be used as programmer.
So I got a launchpad MSP-EXP430FR5969.
I downloaded the latest CC, installed it into a VM under XP SP3. I can create simple projects with CC and can compile them.
But when I connect the launchpad via USB to the VM, driver installation tool pop up, but installation ends with a message that some parts of the INF-file are not valid.
I downloaded several other similar driver packages for USB_FET or USB-EZ, all with similar result.
Any ideas that can help?
I think I have make my questions more concrete:
- Does actual CCS contain all drivers necessary to connect to launchpads, especially my MSP-EXP430FR5969?
Or do I have to install special drivers?
- are there any problems known with XP / SP3 and drivers?
- are there any problems known with drivers and VM / VB?
Hi,
The link will give you the latest version of CCS processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Download_CCS
During installation of CCS, please make sure to install the packages for MSP430 devices, as this will enable launchpads to be connected and programmed through CCS. XP/SP3 is supported, however, I'm not sure about driver installation under a VM environment; but it shouldn't be a problem.

Hi,
It sounds like the FR5969 launchpad may have been bricked after the firmware update, you can refer to this thread to reset the device. As for the additional delay, I suppose it's because of the VM, is the use of a VM required for your project?
