Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529
I am having great difficulty deciphering the documents provided for the above chip and figuring out how to get it to output ACLK.
In SLAS645J for the 5510, it is clear that BIT_0 being set on P1DIR and P1SEL outputs ACLK to P1.0 (ref page 76).
The code to test it on the 5510 is simple:
int main (void)
{
P1DIR |= BIT0; // P1_0 to output
P1SEL |= BIT0; // P1_0 select ACLK
return 0;
}
Doing the same on the above board leads to LED1 being turned on, with no sign of the desired 32kHz signal (even after disconnecting JP8).
Have I totally missed something that the "5529" does completely differently from the "5510" ? Is the term MSP430 a "very" loose family group that have little in common with each other? Do you have to learn the capabilities of each and every chip?
As you can guess I am extremely new to this family of chips and find the documentation (and their differences) bewildering. Any tips as to getting started with CCS and the MSP‑EXP430F5529LP would be great!
