GPIO Peripheral module function select ?

Hi,

I am learning MSP4305529, and I am confused about the function select about GPIO.

For example, P3.2 has three peripheral module functions,

Q1: If I select P3SEL | = BIT2, which peripheral module function is selected?

Q2: I guess clock signal input/output is determined by BIT3 of P3DIR (please correct me if I'm wrong), but under what circumstance is the slave transmit enable selected?

The pin functions and configurations for port 3 are listed in the datasheet in table 51 on page 84:

In your case, there is only one second function - it is the USCI module. The further three subdivisions are automatically given by the configuration of the USCI module. Other MCUs have more functions for one pin, then you will sometimes also have a second PxSEL bit.

MSP430F5529 has more than one USCI modules, If both UCA0 and UCB0 are enabled, how to know whether UCB0CLK or UCA0STE is selected ?
