Cannot able to flash

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F2416, MSP430F2419

Hi,

I am using MSP430F2416 i have developed the schematic as per the MSP-TS430PM64 target board circuits.

               (1) While i try to flash the code i am getting the following error if 3.3v connect  external supply "LOAD PROGRAM ERROR". I have attached the screen shot of this error for your verification in this "Load program error" files.

               (2) If i 3.3V external supply removed, the above error has been rectified and the program can be flashed to the uC. After  that if i connected 3.3V external supply to the controller then it not responding while debugging the program the following error occurred.

"MSP430: Trouble Halting Target CPU: Internal error"

The attached  " Halting error" file shows the screen shot of this error.

I am suspecting whether the controller is alive or not.

  • It looks like you configured CCS for the wrong controller. You selected the MSP430F2419 instead of the MSP430F2416. First make sure you selected the right controller.

Can you show the schematic of how the MSP430F2416 is connected to the debug probe, including power supply connections?

If the flash programming fails, maybe the MSP430F2416 isn't receiving sufficient power.

  • Hi Chester,
Thanks for your response. I have been using the schematic of MSP-TS430PM64 from TI only, that too I have raised a query on this early stage of my project in this forum e2e.ti.com/.../448969.
I have made the changes as per the inputs given in this discussion. Even after also i am facing such a issue. Could you pls help me to solove this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

To avoid confusion can you please show the schematic of how the MSP430F2416 is connected to the debug probe, including power supply connections.

The schematic in your other thread didn't follow the guidance of Figure 2-1. Signal Connections for 4-Wire JTAG Communication in the MSP430 Hardware Tools
    User's Guide
