Miss match between XT2 frequency and MCLK frequency output pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529

Hi

I have a 4MHz crystal at XT2 port of a MSP430F5529. I have set it to be the source of MCLK. However on MCLK I am getting 2.5MHz.

I understand that you can divide the frequency but I also know that the resulting frequency must be an integer one not something like 2.5MHz.

Here is my very simple code.

int main(void) {

int i=0;
WDTCTL = WDTPW | WDTHOLD; // Stop watchdog timer
UCSCTL3 = SELREF1 + SELREF2;
UCSCTL4 = SELM1_L + SELM2_L + SELS1_L + SELS2_L ;

InitializeIO();
//batteryinit();

for (i=0; i < 1000; i++);
UCSCTL7 &= 0xF7;
for(;;) {
volatile unsigned int i; // volatile to prevent optimization

P6OUT ^= 0x40; // Toggle P1.0 using exclusive-OR

i = 10000; // SW Delay
do i--;
while(i != 0);
}

return 0;

}

Can somebody help please?
