Undefined behavior if MSP432 RTC DOW Register not set?

My application doesn't need to use the DOW Calendar feature of the RTC and after looking at the block diagram for the module it looks like nothing depends on the output of the DOW(Days of Week) register. I can't seem to find a solid answer as to whether or not this particular register needs to be set correctly or if we could set it to an arbitrary value and forget about it. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Register RTCADOW (Calendar Mode) is not necessary for the use of the MSP432 RTC module. This register is used to enable an alarm, or interrupt, to be triggered on a specific day of the week. If disabled, or unused, there should be no need to initialize the register to any particular value.
