EM430f5137 antenna design issue

Hi everyone,

I am using for my project EM430f5137 development kit and now I am drawing pcb with same components and is it important sma connection trace line width after the C304 capacitor ?

Hi Murat,

The trace width between C304 and X1 is 30 mils or 0.76 mm in width. You can check this value and others using the EM430F5137RF900 Hardware Design Files and a Gerber Viewer Tool, some of which are provided online for free.

I need to know that ,almost all rf pcbs I saw that too many vias between top layer and bottom layer.Why should we use this vias and which instructions should I follow for putting this vias?

Hello Murat,

Ground vias are added liberally throughout RF portions of PCB designs to help prevent parasitic ground inductance due to ground-current return paths and also help to prevent cross-coupling from RF and other signal lines.
