MSP-EXP430F5529LP BSL and Emulator not recognized by Windows10

I am not able to view the images you attempted to upload, can you please try re-posting them? We have seen similar issues like yours in the past: e2e.ti.com/.../462764

Can you try downloading hte latest CDC drivers (http://www.ti.com/tool/mspds under "Low-Level USB Drivers") and see if this solves your issue?

Thank you for your reply. I did install the latest version of FET430 driver (MSP430Drivers-1_00_00_01-windows-installer.exe), also latest version CCS (6.1.1). Tried with Windows7 and the same result: only the storage device (MSC) is showing, but I cannot see the ez-FET lite USB/UART port, neither the USB BSL device, so CCS cannot find any device.

Please show the hardware IDs of the vendor-defined HID device.

This is the only device added after connecting the MSP430F5529 LaunchPad to the USB port.

Really the only device? There should be one hub and two other devices (the eZ-FET F5528, and the target F5529, and both can have multiple interfaces). Tell Device Manager to show the devices by connection.

The ID 2047:0402 does not really make sense. The hub always has ID 0451:2046; the eZ-FET can have 0451:F432 (or 2047:0203 without firmware). Did you have an application with the 0402 ID one the target?

I will check the hub to see if it is present in the device manager, I haven't check that one, because I am concentrating in the HID, MSC and CDC device that should be present according to the documentation. When I connect the LaunchPad it show a storage device that pop up automatically, in Windows, when it is connected. I haven't been able to play or install anything in the launchPad because I cannot access it. I will get the VID and PID for the hub latter because I forget the LaunchPad at home.

In the HID class one device was added with the following hardware description:  VID_2047  PID_0402

In the Universal Serial Bus Controllers the following devices and hardware description were added:

  - Generic USB Hub:  VID_0451 PID_2046

  - USB Composite Device:  VID_2047  PID_0402

  - USB Mass Storage Device:  VID_2047  PID_0402

No UART/COM port were added.

Select "View"/"Devices by Connection".

Anyway, this looks as if the emulator MCU is missing. (Does any of its LED light up?)

Device Manager: View By Connection. There are not led on after connecting the LaunchPad

Please expand the entries so that the USB devices are visible.

There is indeed no other device below the LaunchPad's USB hub. (The "USB Composite Device" is the target MCU.) This cannot happen, except when the hardware is broken.

But what is that "F5529LP" device? What driver does it use? What happens when you uninstall it, and re-plug the LaunchPad?

The F5529LP is showing as a storage device (MSC). When I remove it and re-plug the Launch Pad it re-appear in the device manager. Below is what it show in the Windows Explorer. I found another link:https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp430/f/166/t/430347  that were having similar problem and they fix it using another LaunchPad(Good one) to flash/program the broken one, but I cannot try that because I do not have another one. If I send the LaunchPad to Texas Instruments can they flash/program it to fix the issue ? That will be ok with me.

Do you not have a MSP-FET or MSP-FET430UIF tool available? Try uninstalling the LaunchPad driver as Clemens suggested. If all debug avenues have been exhausted then we will discuss how to replace your MSP-EXP430F5529LP.

I do not have a MSP-FET or MSP-FET430UIF tool. I uninstalled the drivers and re-installed again, but the same result, also tried uninstall and reinstall CCS. I tried different computer with the same results.
