MSP432 Development Board Issue

Does anyone notice any short circuit on the board emulator controller(around pin 7 and pin 8)? I ordered three development boards and they all have similar shorts.  I experienced some problems debugging them with CCS but they strangely worked fine with Cloud CCS. Has anyone got any similar problems or does anyone know if that short would cause any actual problem. Many thanks for the help.

  • I also believed it was wrong, but according to design files, these shorts are OK.  Look at the print of board design bellow:

    They correspond to the following:

These shorts are correct according to the board design files provided by TI. My MSP432 Launchpad development kit also has the same peculiarity but is working perfectly along with CCS. I had no problems with it. There is a great possibility to be a problem with the installation of your CCS (including the debugger drivers) if none of three MSP432 worked. What reinforces this hypothesis,is that it has worked with Cloud CCS, as you said early. Anyway I'm sure that short circuits are not related to the reported problem, by my own experience.

What message or strange behavior is occurring in your CCS when you try to debug?

    Regards.

  • Haha, you got to the point. Thanks a lot!!!
  • At least you didnt spend a few hours trying to reflow them like I did, right out of the box, without even trying powering up the board. Lol
