downgrading MSP430 USB FET UIF

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F2618

hi

I have been working with a full license version of IAR embedded workbench for the MSP430F2618 controller.

Worked just fine. This moring, I tried to install the Kickstart version of the IAR tool, for my smaller projects, because then I do not

need to carry around the USB dongle.

The problem is now that in the kick start version (which is a more recent version, 5.10) my FET debugger got upgraded, and it does not seem to work anymore with

the older fully licensed version (v4.20). I do not want to upgrade that one.

Is there a way to downgrade the FET debugger?

thx

  • Normally, the older IAR version should detect the higher firmware revision and ask you to 'downgrade' to the firmware version it is compatible with. Unless it thinks it is compatible but isn't.

I dimly remember seeing this happen once. I don't use IAR, but you can check whether a 'firmware update' tool is available through any menu or manually on the IAR installation folder.
